Top 5 Reasons Every Marvel Fan Needs to Go on a Marvel Day at Sea Disney Cruise!
Last year, we made a big decision. We decided instead of Christmas gifts we would be taking our family on a Disney Cruise. My son was 8 at the time and a MAJOR Marvel fan! So, that meant, Marvel Day at Sea!
On Christmas morning, he unwrapped a countdown, snorkel gear, Captain America swim trunks, an autograph book, and Captain America magic band! We had to wait almost 6 weeks for our cruise, the longest 6 weeks ever!
We had the BEST time! We were on a 5-day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay on the Disney Dream! From the moment we stepped foot on the ship, we knew this would be the best trip ever! We made the best memories of dancing with Groot, marveling at Spiderman thwip across the sky, and saving the world with Captain America!
Here is why every Marvel fan needs to go on a Marvel Day at Sea Cruise!
1. The Meet and Greets!
For those of us on the East Coast, we don’t have Marvel characters in Disney World. So, the closest way to visit Marvel characters is by ship! We were stunned at the number of Marvel characters that were on the ship! We had (free) timed entry to visit Thor, Spiderman, Ironman, Star-Lord, and Groot! Then throughout the day, we were able to meet Black Panther, Sam Wilson, Steve Rodgers, Captain Marvel, Dr. Strange, and so many more! Mickey and his friends even show up in their favorite superhero outfits! We loved how much time the characters spent with us! They played around with us, talked with us, and took their time with my son (who was dressed as, you guessed it, Captain America) We had an autograph book filled with signatures and a phone full of heroic photos!
2. The Shows!
The shows on Marvel Day at Sea were AMAZING! There were smaller shows throughout the day like Strange Academy and Warriors of Wakanda. But the highlight of the trip was most definitely Marvel Heroes Unite. An evening show on the main deck of the ship. ALL of our favorite heroes (and villains) came out for a major battle throughout the multiverse! (And spoiler, keep your eye on the sky!)
3. You don’t miss any Disney classics!
One of the things I feared when I began looking into Marvel Day at Sea was missing all of the classic Disney Cruise details. I still wanted to see Mickey and experience Pirate Night! Well, good news! You can have your cake and eat it too! Literally, because it’s all you can eat dessert!
We were thrilled to find out that the first few days were classic Disney. Sail away parties, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and Mickey and Friends shows! And PIRATE NIGHT! It’s a classic! You don’t want to miss it!
On Pirate Night, we started our evening out with a stop at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the Pirates League where my son got a swashbuckling makeover, went to dinner, and ended with fireworks at sea!
4. The Caribbean Sea!
Okay, let’s be real. We all go on cruises for the sun, sand, and blue ocean! Why not meet all of your favorite heroes while also escaping to warmer weather? We loved our day in Castaway Cay! We loved spending the day playing in the ocean, seeing Mickey and Minnie, and doing ocean water slides! And don’t forget about the amazing pools and waterslides on the ship!
5. It’s Magical!
As with all things Disney, it is MAGICAL! The guest service is great, the quality is great, and the experience is completely immersive! I was so happy to find out that Marvel Day at Sea was no different! As a mom of a little superhero myself, nothing made me smile more than seeing his face light up when he got to meet Captain America for the first time or him seeing the Guardians of the Galaxy defend the multiverse! So, take the trip! Go on an adventure! And save the multiverse from all the villains at sea!
