5 Reasons You NEED to Step Aboard the Disney Treasure!

The Disney Treasure is ready to set sail in late December, 2024, but we recently got a preview of the newest Disney Cruise Line ship.

Joining the Disney Wish in the Triton Class of ships, the Disney Treasure is the most spectacular ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. And while we will go more in-depth on the new ship in the future, I want to provide you with five reasons you NEED to see it for yourself!

1. The Haunted Mansion Parlor

Let’s get the most obvious out of the way first, shall we? Disney fans have been buzzing about this new bar since it was announced and it does not disappoint. Fans of the classic Disney Parks attractions will be delighted to sip incredible specialty cocktails among the happy haunts, as they materialize all around you in countless different ways.

There is so much incredible detail to check out, you’re not going to want to sit down! But, when you finally do, there are plenty of amazing drinks to enjoy, some of which come with their own special presentation. For example, The Chilling Challenge is a twist on a margarita and it comes in a smoke-filled box with a special hidden message that can only be seen under a blacklight (as pictured above). And then there are souvenirs, like the Mariner mug that comes with the Last Catch, a sweet bourbon drink.

2. Plaza de Coco

Disney Cruise Line ships are known for their incredible restaurants and the new standout on the Disney Treasure is Plaza de Coco. Guests step right into the town of Santa Cecilia for a celebration featuring your favorite characters from the beloved Pixar film. The colorful costumes and festive music deliver an energetic dining experience.

And then there’s the food. With a menu full of delicious Mexican fare, Plaza de Coco offers some of the most delicious dishes on the ship. I personally recommend the Beef Birria Empanada and the Michoacán Carnitas.

3. Coriander and Sage

Now we’re getting into the less obvious stuff. Coriander and Sage are the unsung heroes of the Disney Treasure. These two treasure seekers kind of play the role of hosts on your cruise, popping up at various events throughout your sailing.

One must-see show featuring these two characters is “Choose Wisely! An Indiana Jones Comedy Adventure.” Coriander and Sage take on various roles from the Indiana Jones films and put a hilarious twist on them. But there are plenty of opportunities to see these two at work, including the Sail Away party and the next item on our list…

4. “Treasure Found”

Every great cruise needs an epic conclusion and “Treasure Found” delivers exactly that. Once again hosted by Coriander and Sage, this show brings together all of the themes and experiences you will find on your Disney Treasure cruise.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Disney Cruise Line sendoff without seeing all of your favorite characters one last time. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Aladdin, Moana and so many more take the stage of the Grand Hall to bid you all a fond farewell. And again, Coriander and Sage take this show to the next level. Literally, it takes place on multiple decks.

5. Disney The Tale of Moana

Without a doubt the biggest star of the Disney Treasure is “Disney The Tale of Moana,” the Broadway-caliber stage show performed in the Walt Disney Theatre. A spectacular retelling of the popular film, this show should be at the tippy top of your list of things to do on your Disney Treasure cruise.

All Disney Cruise Line ships offer these types of spectacular musicals, and the Disney Treasure even offers a “Beauty and the Beast” show as well, but “Disney The Tale of Moana” is head and shoulders above every other production. This innovative show does things on (and off) the stage that you’ve never seen on a Disney Cruise before. DO NOT miss this show when you step aboard the Disney Treasure. You’re welcome!
